Had my baby in December. I was so scared to have a C-section but the Ob staff was so wonderful. They were very reassuring and explained everything thoroughly. They only took the baby away twice. Once for a bath and again for testing. I was so happy to have my baby right by my side the whole time. They also gave me the most delicious cake to take home. I wish I knew where it was from. It was so good and a perfect little extra surprise!

I took my grandmother here yesterday 01/18/25 everyone was friendly with her. But they didn’t listen very well. she was dismissed as just having bad heart burn which is not the case. The doctor seen her 1 time while waiting on test results to ask her if she needed meds. 2 hours later the nurse came in and said here are some prescriptions your free to go without anyone talking to her about the results. I had to ask. It made us feel like no one really cared.

From the volunteers, the check in nurse, preop nurses, Dr. Mark Gardner, the anesthesiologist, and most of all John my post op nurse- every single one was phenomenal!! Everyone listened to me about concerns and were all so personable. I cannot say enough wonderful words about nurse John in post op recovery- he was attentive and so sweet to talk to. He said he is typically only a weekend nurse but picked up a shift the day before thanksgiving to help out and I was so happy to have him by my side after waking up. I will definitely be praising Farrell hospital to everyone I know!

Went to ER by ambulance bc I was having a hard time breathing and my right lung was very painful. They ran tests and said I'd be discharged. I said NO something is wrong to the Dr 3 times before he called my PCP and I was finally admitted. That night my sugar skyrocketed to 750 if I was home I would have been dead. I ended up being transferred to another hospital where I had major lung surgery and spent 35 days in the hospital & another month housebound on 24 hours IV. 50% of the people who have this surgery don't make it. And the ER Dr was going to discharge me! I had to argue with him to be admitted! Thank goodness I listened to my instincts. That Er Dr should be reprimanded!

I thank God I live no where near this “hospital” but feel compelled to write this review because people deserve adequate medical care no matter where they live and to know that the level of care they are receiving from this place is NOT NORMAL.

I live in Harrisburg and there are UPMCs all over providing excellent care. Taking a dying loved one to a trusted name in hospitals gives you some confidence in knowing they will get UPMC level care, but oh boy was I wrong! It felt like I was in the twilight zone or a different world. My loved one was dying, brought in by ambulance, and still did not get officially admitted to this hospital because there were not enough beds. THAT IS NOT OKAY!

Two days before my Grandma passed she was at this hospital (Friday), received bloodwork, and was sent home. I’m curious to see the results of that bloodwork that was taken 48hrs before she was readmitted to this hospital and passed away (Sunday). My guess is that she should NOT have been sent home, but this hospital didn’t care about her (or anyone) and would rather people die at home and not come back to bother them. The following morning (Saturday) she was vomiting blood, and we urged her to go to the hospital and she refused because she knew she’d just get sent home and waste her day there. THAT IS NOT OKAY! People should not have it in their minds to delay care because of the bad reputation of their local hospital. That needs to be fixed for the people who live here because no one should have to suffer because their hospital is inadequate.

It’s clear that this place doesn’t have the resources to provide adequate care. It’s obvious that they don’t want you there, even if your life depended on it. I’ve never seen medical professionals so burnt out and uncaring. Absolutely traumatic experience no one should have to experience.

Some nurses and aides are good, some not. Called the times and almost an hour later to get someone to take me to the bathroom, waiting one day for one exercise machine, not getting answers to my questions and some seeming as if they could care less. unfortunately, I'm still here. I need lotion on my back and seems no one wants the job.

Unacceptable wait times in the ER. 3+ Hours on a Friday night with only 3-5 other people waiting. You better hope you don’t come here on a Friday night with an actual emergency. If you’re not dying, don’t come here or go elsewhere.

My wife had hip surgery this morning and I can't say enough good things about the staff and how she was treated. The 2.9 rating shown on Google maps is misleading. Only one of the Google reviews I could access online is less than four years old and some were 8-9 years old.
