I had an extremely disappointing experience with Home Depot's lumber stock. I checked online, where it showed over 60 units of the lumber I needed at my local store. Trusting this, I planned my whole day around this purchase.

To my frustration, upon arrival, I couldn't find any of the lumber on the shelves, and after speaking with several employees, it became evident that the stock simply wasn't there. This led to over an hour wasted, with staff unable to locate the product anywhere, despite the digital assurance of availability.

Hoping it was just a fluke, I followed the recommendation of the first store's employees to check another nearby Home Depot location, which also showed the lumber abundantly in stock online as well. Unfortunately, the same scenario repeated itself - no lumber in sight, despite the website claiming otherwise. This second visit added another hour of wasted time to my day, making the total time investment of over two hours for no result.

This recurring issue with inventory accuracy for lumber at Home Depot is beyond infuriating. It's clear there's a significant disconnect between their online system, in-store and physical stock, or their inventory management is severely lacking. If you're planning any home project based on their stock numbers, brace yourself for the possibility of coming away empty-handed not once, but potentially twice, as I did.

I would strongly advise against relying on Home Depot's inventory numbers for lumber unless you're prepared for the inconvenience and frustration of dealing with their misleading stock information.

Trying to do a return that was not clear and confusing. But was only able to get store credit after all that time and effort. Not too terrible, but it was a LOT of hassle trying to return an unused, unopened gas generator for several months, while trying to work with Corporate and that Store location at Indiana/Madison Ave…

The best one I've seen. Great knowledge from one assiciate that was happy and friendly. I didn't catch his name but he was a healthy, older gentlemen with white long hair and a pony tail. He would do well in training other associates in customer service.
There were amazing decorations for the holidays. Very well kept store.
There was a man who went into the women's restroom but he wouldn't leave when a woman and I told him to. I alerted the associates on the floor and they all came running to the rescue to stop the man. Great work. I love this Home Depot.

Bought an expensive fridge (GE Profile French Door PVD28BYNFS) in July along w/Allstate protection plan, broke down in Aug, sensor issue not freezing properly. Freezer down. Repair wasn’t speedy (2wks) but got fixed by technician. 2nd breakdown is the worst, it happened 2 days before Thanksgiving. Freezer stopped working & cooling in the fridge. Total breakdown. Technicians couldn’t come out till Monday after Thanksgiving. Ruined my holiday. I had no refrigerator. No options to return & get a new one. As of right now still not fixed.Compressor problem. 3 weeks without a refrigerator so far and counting. Allstate and home depot are the worst. How can they leave me without a fridge. My husband and I are elderly. We may just need to seek help from law enforcement or a lawyer. This is elder abuse for disregarding my human needs. I can’t have my milk or cold foods. I used a big chunk of money on this fridge and cannot afford more. I’m on a fixed income. So sad on how the Home Depot company has succumbed to this low level of operation. Really sad to allow their customers to go through this “protection plan” company…so useless. So so disappointed and angry.

I am here pretty much every day. The staff overall is pretty friendly, but everything else about this place has dropped in quality dramatically. The worst of it is getting help. You have someone call for help and you'll wait to have your lumber chopped for 45 minutes, have no one help you in an aisle when they've been called, and so on. It's just a disgrace. The parking situation is terrible, and no one enforces the trailer spots, so that when I bring my trailer I have no access to those spots as they are taken by sedans and the like. There is so much that is constantly out-of-stock that I have to travel elsewhere to get it. This whole place is just a mess.

I used to love this store, but it's just become a waste of my time to come here vs. any other hardware store.

Now this is customer Service at its best. I had to drive almost two hours to find something that wasnt as of yet. But the ASM Chris went above and beyond to make sure I got what I wanted the next day. The drive was foggier, but very happy. Wish ours had this kind of service. Would definitely recommend it if you need something you cant find anywhere else.

I recently bought a dishwasher here. I paid for installation and removal $239.00. The 3rd company they hired did not install dishwasher or remove old one because they could not shut off the hot water. It took 30 days to get a refund of the money and at least 6 trips to the store. Not a satisfied customer!!!

First things first: the staff are great. They're always as helpful as their corporate allows them to be. But when they started firing great employees and replacing them with rows of self-check out lanes, things started going downhill. Now there's nothing but a long line, and a wait to do all of the check out work for yourself. I don't shop here any more, and it's corporate's fault for trading local jobs for corporate margins. 2 stars for the staff that still has jobs.
